Alex is a Software Developer from Cologne, Germany in their 30s.
They have extensive experience designing complex distributed systems, complex team topologies, and care deeply about the human component in tech. They are always looking for ways to create a more inclusive, psychological safe, and productive work environment, all to enable engineers to become the best versions of themselves. In the past decade they successfully worked as a colleague to, manager of, and mentor for many engineers and stakeholders.
Nowadays they apply their skills at 7Mind, where they lead engineers to help build software which helps millions of people to find mindfulness in their lives.
Throughout their career they gathered experience with many different technologies and stacks. Over “classic” Java development, to mobile and responsive web apps, up to building large scalable and resilient backend systems. They prefer their programming languages functional and are deeply in love with the teachings of domain-driven design.
When not tech slinging they are a loving parent, avid roleplayer, and drummer. They read a lot, love a good science fiction movie and like to engage in thought-provoking conversations from game design to system architecture or the meaning of life.
